How to make a Miffy bride and groom

Enkele weken geleden haakte ik voor mijn vriendin een nijntje-bruidje, ter gelegenheid van haar vrijgezellenparty. Ze was zo blij met haar cadeautje dat ze me vroeg om het setje te vervolledigen. Geen gemakkelijke opdracht aangezien Nijntje eigenlijk een meisje is. Maar goed, een beetje knutselen en wat verbeelding et voila. Nijntje de bruidegom.

Some weeks ago a crocheted a Miffy Bride for a friend as a gift on her henparty. she loved it so much that she ask me to complete the set. No easy task, because Miffy is actually a girl. So some crafting and trying later, tadaah: a Miffy-groom.

How to make an invitation

Samen met dochterlief knutselden we samen de uitnodiging voor haar kinderfeestje. Het is makkelijk om zelf te doen, alleen een beetje werk.

Wat heb je nodig:
- A5 blanco dubbele kaarten (ik kocht een pakje van 8 stuks inclusief enveloppen bij de Action)
- Strijkkralen en plankje
- Strijkijzer
- sterke lijm
- dynamo met neontape (ik kocht de mijne bij Hema)
- puncher in de vorm van kroontje

- Maak een cupcake en pakje op het strijkkralenplankje.
- Strijk de cupcake en pakje en laat afkoelen
- maak met de dynamo het tekstje 'verjaardag'
- Punch de kroontjes uit met de puncher aan de lange onderkant van de kaart
- Plak alles op de voorkant van de kaart
- Maak de tekst voor de binnenkant (ik gebruikte hiervoor Canva.com)

Together with my daughter we made an invitation for her birthdayparty. It's so easy to make this for yourself, just a little bite of work

What do you need:
- A5 blanco double cards (I bought a stack of 8 pieces from the Action)
- Hema Beads and the planck
- Iron
- strong glue
- Dynamo with neontape
- Puncher in the form of a crown

- Make a cupcake en present on the planck
- Iron the cupcake en present and let it cool
- make the text 'birthday' with the dynamo
- Punch out the crowns on the bottom of the card
- Glue everything on the card
- Make the text for the inside of the card (I use Canva.com)

How wifi meets embroidery

Als kind borduurde ik heel veel, voornamelijk kruisjesteek. Ik maakte merklappen voor verjaardagen, vaderdag, huwelijksverjaardagen en geboortes. Maar de laatste jaren borduurde ik bijna niets. Tot ik via Pinterest deze leuke ' home is where' teksten tegen kwam. Vooral eentje leek op ons lijf geschreven. ;-)

As a child I did my share of cross stitching. I made samplers for birthdays, father's day, wedding anniversaries and births. But this last years I embroidered alomost nothing. Untill I found this funny 'Home is where' quotes on Pinterest. Especially one I really loved. ;-)

Free february desktop

FEBRUARY 1024X768

Februari is bij uitstek de maand van de liefde. Hartjes zijn daarom het thema van de gehaakte desktop van deze maand. Ik maakte de hartjes in verschillende groottes door te wisselen van garen of door zelfs garen dubbel te gebruiken. Voor alle hartjes gebruikte ik het patroon van Hopeful Honey. Zoals beloofd, is het bureaublad weer gratis te downloaden.

 February is the month of Love. That is why hearts are the theme of this month desktop. I crocheted the hearts in different sizes using different yarn or by using double thread. For the hearts I used the pattern of Hopeful Honey. Like promised you can use the desktop, free of charge.

We hadden dit weekend al naarstige voorbereidingen voor de verjaardag van dochterlief. Het duurt nog wel enkele weken. Ze wil altijd veel, dus dat vraagt de nodige voorbereiding. Zeker als ze wat zelf wil doen.
Voor haar cupcake feestje wilde alvast een leuke schort. Dus maakte we samen eentje tijdens het winkel oppassen afgelopen zaterdag. Ze koos zelf de stof, lintjes en rekende zelfs met mij af. Ze was er helemaal gelukkig mee :-). Nu nog 6 andere maken, zucht.

Oh ja, ik gebruikte een doe het zelf patroon voor het uittekenen van de schort

We made some preperations for my daughters birthday party. It is still a few weeks away! But she always hads several ideas, so we have te make lots of preperations. Especially if she wants to make some things herself.

This year she giving a cupcake party, for her party she wanted an apron. So we sewed one this Saterday when we were attending the store. She chose the fabric, ribbons and she even settled the bill with me. It made her so happy.

How to make a original bride gift

Miffy the bride

Mijn vriendin gaat in april trouwen! Dat vraagt natuurlijk om een feestje met cadeautjes. Mijn bijdrage was een bruidjes-Nijntje in haar lievelingskleur paars. Ik gebruikte een nieuw patroon gevonden via Pinterest. Ik vind hem super geworden. Ze wilde ook nog graag een mannelijke versie, dus dat ga ik ook nog in mekaar knutselen. Wordt Vervolgd.


My friend is getting married this April. This calls for a party with presents. I made a little Bride-Miffy in her favorite colour purple. I used a new pattern found on Pinterest. She loved it. She even wanted a new version for her hubby. So to be continued.

Portretschilderij

Toen ik mijn dochter een hele tijd geleden naar een verjaardagsfeestje bracht, zag ik daar iets leuks aan de muur hangen. De moeder had de kinderen gevraagd om hun vader of moeder te schilderen. Zo leuk. Ik had nog twee kleine schilderdoekjes over, dus toen het afgelopen weekend zo stormde schilderde dochterlief twee geweldig portretten van mijn partner en ik. Mijn partner was vooral verguld omdat hij er zo jong op staat :-).

When I drop off my daughter for a birthday party at a friends house. I saw something nice on the wall of their livingroom. The mother asked her children to make a portrait of their mother or father. So nice.
I had some canvas lying around, so this weekend when the storm raged my daughter made two beautiful portraits of my partner and me. My partner was very pleased with the result because he looks so young : -)
