Featherweight

Ik ben een echte fan van de featherweight Cardigan van Hannah Fettig. Ik breide hem al eerder in het blauw in een alpaca garen. Nu maakte ik hem in een zijde mohair draad van een uitgehaalde bernadette vest. Het vest paste totaal niet bij me. Veel te groot en te aardappelzakkig om mooi te zijn. Dus uithalen met die hap en opnieuw beginnen met een ander patroon.

I'm a real fan of the Featherweight Cardigan by Hannah Fettig. I knitted it some time ago in a blue alpaca yarn. Now I choose a Silk Mohair from Katia from a pulled out Bernadette cardigan. The cardigan didn't fit my figure. It was to big and too saggy to be nice on my figure. So I pulled it out and started over with a different pattern.

Tilly and the buttons

Ik naaide al the Stevie van Tilly and the Buttons en dat beviel prima. Ik probeerde daarom voor een nieuw shirt het Coco patroon.
Ik had al een super leuk retrostofje, vol met vogeltjes en bloemetjes, gekocht bij Tricot and More. Het Coco patroon leek ideaal om een leuk shirt van het stofje te maken. Het patroon heeft verschillende opties in mouwen en lengte van het shirt. Ik koos voor lange mouw en shirtlengte. Ik maakte de grootste maat. Het shirt valt ruim, dus volgende keer ga ik voor een maat kleiner.
Het originele patroon heeft een beetje rare pipehals. Niet helemaal mijn smaak, dus ik maakte een eigen halsafwerking met een halsbiasband.
Kortom al bij al zeker herhaalbaar en misschien zelfs iets voor dochterlief

I sewed a Stevie from the Tilly and the Buttons pattern. That was a hit, so I tried the Coco pattern next.
I bought a vintage looking fabric sometime ago with birds and  roses. The Coco pattern has several options in sleeves, lenght and neckline. I choose the shirt version with long sleeves. On the neckline I improvised a little, by making my own neckbias version.

I really love the result and even thinking about making one for my teenage daughter.

Tilly and the buttons

Afgelopen week waagde ik mij aan mijn eerste Tilly and the Buttons patroon. Mijn vriendin sprak er met zoveel lof over dat ik het gewoon eens moest proberen. Ze hadden bovendien een nieuw patroon en dan ook nog een blouse/jurk model dus daar ging ik.

Ik koos voor een hele mooie satijnachtige stof gekocht  bij Tricot and More. Prachtige stof maar geen aanrader om mee te werken als je een patroon wilt testen. Het glibberde alle kanten op. Het patroon en de bijhorende handleiding was geweldig. Super duidelijk. Deze keer naaide ik de blouse versie, maar ik weet zeker dat er binnenkort ook een jurkje aankomt.

This week I tested me very first Tilly and the Buttons pattern. My friend was so full of the patterns of this designer that I just had to try it. They also had a sale and a new pattern of a blouse/dress. So the time was right to give it a try.

I chose a beautifull satin like fabric from Tricot and More. The fabric is just lovelly but it is not a really good idea to test a new pattern with. The fabric is so slibbery to work with. The pattern of the Stevie was great and the tutorial was amazing. This time I made the blouse, but I know for sure I'm making the dress very soon.

Roco the Raccoon

Het is zo langzamerhand traditie geworden dat ik elk jaar een knuffel maak voor dochterlief wanneer ze voor de zomervakantie naar haar vader gaat. Dit jaar koos ze Roco the Raccoon van Lalylala. Het patroon is geweldig en super uitgebreid. Ik moest wel enkele aanpassingen doen aan de muts omdat ik twee verschillende diktes van draad gebruikte.

It is tradition that I crochet a amigurumi every year for my daughter when she goes on summerholiday with her father. This year she chose Roco the Raccoon from Lalylala. The pattern is great and very detailed. I just had to make some adjustments to the head because I used to different kind of yarns.

Never ever will I

Uit een van de Knippies van vorig jaar naaide ik voor een pasgeboren baby van vriendin een heel lief jurkje. Het jurkje zag er op de foto heel makkelijk uit, maar al die biasband is echt een afknapper. Dat ga ik dus nooit meer doen. Ik vind het een geweldig soort jurkje, maar volgende keer probeer ik het patroon van Twig and tale. Dat patroon gebruikt  geen biasband en is ook nog eens gratis. Dus ik voel nog een projectje opkomen ;-)

From one of the Knippies  (Dutch Sewing Magazin for kids clothes) I sewed a wrapdress for the newborn of my friend. The dress looked easy enough to make, but the biasband on the dress was a real dealbreaker. I never ever want to do that again.
Next time I'm trying the pattern from Twig and tale. That pattern doesn't use any biasband and is free. So perhaps something for a new project ;-)

Featherweight

Eindelijk is het vestje af! Mijn Duitse vriendin had me al gewaarschuwd. Het zou een hels karwei worden om de featherweight van Hannah Fettig te breien. En dat heb ik geweten. Het patroon vereist een dunne draad en dat breien neemt de nodige tijd in beslag. Het patroon is goed beschreven en eenvoudig te volgen. Ik denk zelfs dat ik hem binnenkort (tijdens de vakantie) nog een keer maak. Verbeterpunten voor patroon zijn de armsgaten. Ik ga volgende keer meer steken opzetten voor de onderarm. Daarnaast moet ik mij eens gaan toeleggen op het losjes afkanten, want de onderkant van een van de mouwen is veel te strak geworden.

Finally the cardigan is finished. My German friend did warn me about knitting the Featherweight of Hannah Fettig. She was absolutly right. The pattern requires a thin wire, so the knitting takes a while. The pattern is very well writting and the instruction are clear. I even think I'm going to knite it again in the holiday.
Points of improvement are the holes for the arm. I'm going to knite some more stiches for the forearm
And next time I'm going to focus on the finish of the garnement, because the buttom the vest and the arm are a little bit small.

I love Stephen West

Het heeft mij zowat drie maanden gekost om deze Glacier helemaal af te maken. Dat komt ervan als je niet genoeg wol hebt. Oh ja, en een paar keer uithalen door een fout die ik pas rijen later zag, helpt ook aardig mee.
Het eindresultaat is wel geweldig. Dank je wel Kata voor de instructies om de sjaal op te spannen. De sjaal ruikt nu heerlijk naar conditioner en ziet er geweldig strak uit.

I took me 3 months to finish the Glacier Sweep. That happens if you don't have enough yarn. And offcourse pulling out several rows due to the discovery of an error some rows down, doesn't help.

The result is marvellous. Thx Kata for the instructions on how to strech out the scarf. The scarfs has the lovelly odeur of my conditioner and looks very tight.

Lief konijntje

Krissie Dolls - konijntje

Het patroon van het lief kleine konijntje van Krissie Dolls stond al tijden op mijn verlanglijstje. Ik had hem gelijk gekocht toen het patroon uit kwam maar nog nooit gemaakt. Foei.

Ik haakte hem nu als test omdat ik hem binnenkort als het bekende Bruna figuur wil uitvoeren. Desondanks ik tevreden ben over deze uitvoering zijn er toch een aantal aandachtspunten te noemen. Ik ben niet helemaal tevreden over de oren. Die zijn een beetje te dik, die ga ik in de volgende versie dus niet opvullen. Daarnaast zijn de oogjes aan de kleine kant en mogen die een slaag groter. Mocht ik in de volgende versie een sjaal maken dan ga ik die breien in plaats van haken. Dat is toch een stuk mooier.

The pattern of the sweet bunny from Krissie Dolls stood on my to do list for some time. I bought the pattern the minute it came online. But I never crocheted it. Shame on me.

Now I crocheted it as a test for the final version as a famous Bruna person. I'm very happy with the execution but there ar some points of improvement. The ears are a little bite to thick. I'll skip the filling in the next version. The eyes are on the small side. Next time I will choose a bigger size.
And if I use a scarf in the next version I'll knit one instead of crochet.

Babyvest

Ik werk alvast een beetje verder voor de babyboom in mijn vrienden- en werkkring. Alvast voor de najaarsbaby een prachtig lief, zacht vestje. Ideaal voor het zachte babyhuidje.

Het vestje is volgens een patroon van Katia met wol van hetzelfde merk.

I'm already working a little bit ahead for the babyboom that is in swing in my surroundings. I knitted a lovely baby vest.

The vest is made with a pattern of Katia and the yarn is from the same brand.

A sweet little dragon

 

Draken hebben normaal gezien niet het een hoge aaibaarheidsfactor. Maar met het patroon van Julia het draakje van Krissie Dolls en de juiste combinatie van garens, krijg je een heel erg schattig draakje.

Dragons aren't know for their cuddlynes. But if you use the pattern of Julia the dragon from Krissie Dolls and the right combination of yarns. Than you get a real sweet little dragon. Ready to cuddle.

Zeg roodkapje waar ga je heen...

Roodkapje

Wel mijn roodkapje ging naar de kinderdisco. Ze was uitgenodigd door een vriendinnetje. Dit gaf mij wel de nodige stress. Ik dacht namelijk dat ik tot vrijdag had om het pakje af te maken, maar nu moest het ineens zaterdag af zijn. Zaterdag overdag dus volop gewerkt aan de kapmantel. Het rokje had ik gelukkig al vorig weekend afgemaakt.

Alle stof komt van de Ikea. Het geruite stof is gordijnenstof en het fleecestof is eigenlijk een dekentje. Voor het rokje gebruikte ik het patroon van Mama Saartje. Ik deed er echter wel wat langer over dan de aangegeven 25 minuten. Voor de cape deed ik beroep op het patroon van fleecefun

Red riding hood

My little red riding hood went to a party. She was invited by a friend. It created some stress for me, because I tought I had untill friday to finish the custome. Instead I had to finish it on Saterday. Thank god I already made the skirt last weekend.

All the fabric is from Ikea. The red and white fabric is a curtainfabric and the fleece fabric is actually a blanket. For the skirt I used the pattern of Mama Saartje, but it took me more than 25 minutes to make. And for the cape I use the pattern of fleecefun
